Our children are currently collecting quarters to help the Church of God of Prophecy reach out to a small town near the capitol city of Cario. This outreach will carry the message of Jesus Christ to this poor rural area that is in need of many of the basics of life such as food, clothing, and an education. Currently our goal is to reach $500.00 by August but we would like to exceed this goal and go beyond. By helping our Brothers and Sisters in Egypt we will be breaking down walls and walking over boundries set by distance and culture. If you would like to partner with our children in this venture you may do so by sending your gift by check or money order made out to Church of God of Prophecy to the address below. Being a Mom is one of the most demanding jobs anyone can have. Raising children is not always easy. Our congregation would like to thank all the Mothers for everything they do. We understand the frustrations and joys of having a family and know it is hard at times. We are all Gods children and just like our moms he is always wanting to help and take care of us. He picks us up when we fall and listens when we are sad. Today take time out to say thank you to your mom and remind yourself that just like mom God is there also. We as children often forget the little things mom did for us, but today we can look back and remember when mom would make peanutbutter fudge just the way we liked it. Flowers and cards may seem such a small thank you gift for all they do. But Moms understand its the little things that mean the most. God Bless |

During the holiday season we give thanks for family, friends, prosperity, good health and more. These are great reasons to be thankful and give praise. But it is written, in ALL things give thanks. We should be thankful even for the times life seems to hard or difficult. In order to recycle metal and change its shape from one item to another it has to be melted down. Heat has to be applied in order to get the metal ready to be molded into something new. Some of us have been molded by the world and need to have the heat turned up in order to be molded by God. When you stop and think this holiday season and give thanks for the good times in your life. Also remember to give thanks for the not so good times. The hard times may be God turning up the heat or making changes in your life that you just have not recognized. He may be remolding you and directing you into a closer relationship with him. This Thanksgiving when telling others what you are thankful for remember to include, "I am thankful for the life lessons and changes God has given me this year." Look at the hard times and try to find how it may have gotten you closer to God. Did losing that job, offer you more opportunity to go to church on Sunday? Did getting a new job introduce you to someone who loves God. What ever the situation was try to find God in it. You just may begin to realize that he is in control and beginning to remold you into something new. Happy Thanksgiving !! In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. ~1 Thessalonians 5:18 |
